The Zinc importation systems present in P. aeruginosa
Description
In addition to the ZnuABCD system found in many gram-negative bacteria P. aeruginosa has several other putative Zn2+ import systems. PA2911-PA2914 and PA4063-PA4066 both share similarities with ZnuABCD, with PA2911-PA2914 is predicted to interact with chelated forms of Zn2+ and PA4063-PA4066 has two potential periplasmic SBP type proteins. HmtA is a P-type ATPase which exclusively transports Zn and Cu from the periplasm to the cytoplasm. Figure adapted from a figure in V. Ducret, et al. (2022)
