Description
Continuous accumulation of genomic DSBs and direct telomeric damage (1) cause replication fork collapse (2) or further damage (3), and initiation of the DDR mechanisms. Appearance of DNA damage foci with activated H2A.X (γ-H2A.X), following single and double strand breaks subsequently results in the initiation of cellular senescence .
