Signal Transduction Pathways of Cell Apoptosis
Description
Apoptosis signals include death receptors and mitochondrial mediated cell signaling pathways.
After binding with the death receptor Fas, the ligand FasL forms a death inducing complex composed of Fas-FADD-caspase-8 precursor in the cytoplasmic region. The activated caspase-8 activates caspase-3, promoting cell apoptosis.
Cyt C combines with Apaf-1 to bind to the pro-caspase-9, leading to the activation of caspase-9. Activated caspase-9 further activates caspase-3, causing cell apoptosis.
