Selective estrogen receptor modulator
Description
In contrast, selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) with antagonistic properties prevent transcription by binding repressor molecules to the receptor. Agonistic SERMs, however, initiate transcription through an alternative pathway by interacting with AP1 complexes and proteins like c-Jun and c-Fos instead of EREs.
