An editable high resolution scientific image depicting Salmonella Pathogenesis

Description

Salmonella's journey into the body involves breaching multiple barriers before reaching the lamina propria to cause infection. It can enter via ingestion, inhalation, or direct contact, bypassing defences like the gut epithelium and immune responses to cause infection in the deeper tissue layers.
