Resazurin Cell Viability Assay
Description
Enzymatic conversion of resazurin to resorufin in viable cells. Resazurin (blue, low fluorescence) is reduced to resorufin (pink, high fluorescence) within the mitochondria of viable cells. This reaction, facilitated by NADH/H+, results in NAD+/H2O. The change in color and fluorescence indicates cell viability.
