Peripheral Nerve Structure
Description
Peripheral Nerves are composed out of multiple bundles, so called "fascicles". Within each fascicle we find a multitude of nerve fibers which are either myelinated by Schwann-cells or bundled by non-myelinating Schwann-cells. We also find a small number of resident macrophages, that become activated upon nerve damage.
