Description
The inflammation is primarily instigated by B cells, capable of transforming into plasma cells to release antibodies. Simultaneously, CD8+ T cells, known as cytotoxic T cells, secrete both pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines. These activated lymphocytes organize into lymphoid follicles in the meninges and unleash oxidative bursts into the brain cortex.It prompt the activation of microglia and macrophages which target the myelin sheath
