Overview of current procedures of metabolic surgery
Description
The most common surgical procedures for obesity and metabolic treatment usually involve the gastrointestinal system. In the United States (in descending order of frequency), Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB), sleeve gastrectomy (SG), adjustable gastric banding (AGB), and biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch (BPD/DS) are the procedures of choice for obesity and metabolic treatment.
