MTS Cell Proliferation Assay
Description
This template was adapted from the original submission. Edits were made to enhance scientific accuracy, optimal usability and/or to meet industry-leading design standards for science communication.
The MTS assay determines the cell viability through the incorporation of reagents undergoing color change. This assay employs the use of the MTS tetrazolium compound, which is converted to formazan by metabolically active and viable cells. The amount of formazan can be measured at 490 nm with a spectrophotometer to estimate the number of metabolically active cells.
