miRNA Biogenesis Pathways
Description
miRNA biogenesis can be divided into the canonical pathway and non-canonical pathways. Non-canonical pathways can be sub grouped into the Drosha-independent pathways (involving mirtrons and m7G-pre-miRNAs) and Dicer-independent pathway (involving shRNA). All pathways start in the nucleus and end in the cytoplasm with the formation of a functional miRISC complex.
