Membrane turnover - Retrograde Trafficking

Description

Intracellular trafficking plays a crucial role in neuronal development, maintenance, and neurodegeneration. Inside the cells, cargo trafficking occurs by vesicles, where some events play to determine its destination and its correct delivery to cell surface, trans-golgi-network recycling, or lysosome fusion to further degradation. Early endosomes show PtdIns(3)P and Rab5 markers. From endocytosis to maturation, endosomes lose Rab5 markers which are replaced by Rab7a and PtdIns(3,5)-bisphosphate.
