Marker vaccines

Description

Visualization of the concept of marker vaccines. a: the virulent virus expresses 3 proteins (red, blue, green); b: the vaccine strain is genetically modified and one of the proteins was removed (e.g. green). This allows for the Differentiation of Infected from Vaccinated Animals (called the DIVA strategy) by the use of appropriate screening tests.
