Liposome Nanoparticles for Delivery of Ion Channels
Description
This template was adapted from the original submission. Edits were made to enhance scientific accuracy, optimal usability and/or to meet industry-leading design standards for science communication.
Ion channel malfunctions lead to physiological disorders like Cystic fibrosis. Current therapies are merely symptomatic. To solve this, we employed the bilayer of liposomes to integrate and deliver intact functional channels. Ion channels were collected in the form of membrane fragments to preserve their structure. Phospholipids chosen give liposomes a fusogenic property to place ion channels at their action site. This therapeutical principle was assayed microscopically & electrophysiologically.
