An editable high resolution scientific image depicting Lipid droplet–organelle contacts.

Lipid droplet–organelle contacts.

Description

Lipid droplets (LD) interact with nearly all organelles in the cell, including endoplasmic reticulum (ER), mitochondria, lysosome, peroxisome, and endosome. Although the molecular basis for many of these contacts remains poorly understood, each LD interaction with other organelles is associated with specific proteins.
