Lactase persistence phenotype measurement - blood glucose method
Description
Lactase persistence phenotype measurement - blood glucose method
After 8 hours of starving, blood glucose is measured by a glucometer: the blood glucose baseline. Then, the proband is asked to drink 50 g of lactose diluted in 200 ml of water. After another 20 minutes, blood glucose is measured again, and based on the level of digestion of lactose, the blood glucose rises, and the lactase persistence status is detected.
