H2S-mediated inhibition of Insulin secretion from pancreatic β-cells.
Description
H2S inhibits the cell from being in the depolarized state by; 1) directly increasing the activity of KATP channels, thereby keeping the cell in the hyperpolarized state, 2) perturbing the rise of intracellular ATP ratio which causes the KATP channel to be open, and finally 3) directly inhibiting VDCCs, thereby preventing calcium influx, and subsequent inhibition of vesicle-membrane fusion and insulin secretion.
