Schematic representation of a fully developed human breast (centre) constituted by adipose tissue and lobes connected to ducts (the terminal duct lobular units) surrounded by connective tissue, which end in the nipple, and the most common morphological changes occurred in the acini of the mammary lobules (on the left) and ducts (on the right) prompted by the appearance and progression of breast cancer.
