Generations of CAR-T cells
Description
The concept of CAR T cell therapy emerged in the late 1980s, featuring a modular structure with ectodomain housing antigen-binding domains, a transmembrane domain for cell membrane anchoring, and an intracellular domain initiating signaling. Despite minimal changes to this structure, CAR-T cells have been categorized into five generations based on intracellular signaling domain variations.
