Gemcitabine is a compound that is used in the treatment of a number of different cancers. It is one of the main chemotherapy drugs used to treat pancreatic adenocarcinoma. This illustration describes the unique mechanism of action by which Gemcitabine prevents cell growth and division by targeting DNA synthesis.
