Description
Macrophages play a crucial role in various aspects of atherosclerosis development, including lipid metabolism, inflammatory responses, the formation of necrotic cores, and plaque instability. Their direct roles of macrophages involve the formation of foam cells, apoptotic cells, and inflamed cells. Indirect roles, such as contributing to CD4+ T cell activation in the atherosclerotic process
