Elements of Tissue Engineering
Description
Depiction of essential elements of a tissue engineered construct. It is possible to use all three elements in a tissue engineered construct, but not always necessary depending on the end application.
Scaffolds can be made of synthetic or natural materials.
Cells usually need to be adherent cells, unless the scaffold can support non-adherent cells
Biomarkers are usually related to supplementing a function of the cells, but could also be related to a function of the scaffold as well
