Differential ultra-centrifugation
Description
In biochemistry and cell biology, differential ultra-centrifugation is widely used to separate organelles and other sub-cellular particles, including extracellular vesicles, based on their sedimentation rate. Although often implemented in studies on living organisms, differential centrifugation is a general technique also suitable for crude purification of non-living suspended particles (e.g. nanoparticles, colloidal particles, viruses).
