Clinical forms of Leprosy and imnune response
Description
Leprosy is classified on the Ridley-Jopling scale as tuberculoid (TT), borderline-tuberculoid (BT), borderline-borderline (BB), borderline-lepromatous (BL), and lepromatous leprosy (LL). TT leprosy shows strong cell-mediated immunity, while BL/LL leprosy exhibits a high level of humoral immunity. Patients are classified as paucibacillary (PB) and multibacillary (MB) based on the number of lesions, with treatment lasting 6 months for PB and 12 months for MB.
