Chemotaxis: Migration of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) towards Bone marrow niche

Description

SDF1alpha/CXCR4 axis are involved in the migration of HSCs from blood towards Bone marrow niche. CXCR4 receptor is present on the HSCs and chemokine SDF1alpha (CXCL12) is present in the Bone marrow. The chemoattraction between the two is responsible for the migration of stem cells and subsequent homing in th bone marrow niche.
