Atomic force microscopy - Micromechanics of apple and pear tissues
Description
The composition and structure of cell walls undergo substantial changes throughout growth and storage. Investigating the mechanical properties at the cellular level of fruit tissues is instrumental in gauging the impact of alterations in cell wall structure. In pursuit of this objective, a hydromechanical model based on discrete element modeling (DEM) is currently in development, featuring quantitative assessments of cellular stiffness.
