Anion exchange chromatography
Description
The figure illustrates the process of anion exchange chromatography. In this technique, negatively charged anions in a sample bind to positively charged groups on a stationary phase. As a gradient of increasing ionic strength or pH is applied, the anions are selectively eluted based on their affinity to the stationary phase. Stronger anions are eluted later due to their higher affinity, allowing for effective separation of anions in the mixture.
