Description
The large intestine (colorectum) includes three major parts: proximal colon (caecum, ascending colon, hepatic flexure, transverse colon, splenic flexure), distal colon (descending colon, sigmoid colon), and rectum. The figure was adapted from the American Cancer Society’s webpage (1).
