Amyloidogenic Pathway
Description
In the amyloidogenic pathway, amyloid precursor protein is first cleaved by β-secretase and subsequently cleaved by γ-secretase to generate Aβ peptides. The accumulation and aggregation of Aβ peptides results in neurotoxic amyloid plaques.
