Ambra1 cellular functions
Description
Ambra1 (Activating Molecule in Beclin1-Regulated Autophagy 1) is a gene encoding for a protein highly conserved among vertebrates and, while it was initially discovered as a protein involved in the development of the nervous system, it is now known that AMBRA1 is a regulator of three fundamental processes: autophagy, apoptosis and cell proliferation, crucial pathways deeply interconnected with each other.
