isolation and characterization of Bacteria from different environmental Sources
Description
The figure illustrates the use of phages for treating patients suffering from resistant bacterial infections. Antibiotic-resistant pathogens are isolated from the infection site and identified. Environmental sources and phage banks are screened in vitro for lytic phages specific to the isolated strain. Different formulations, Mono or cocktails, undergo safety and efficacy trials using in vivo animal models. The most suitable phage formulation is administered to the patient.
